Jenny and The Students

First, I want to update you on fundraising: With more than 600kl covered, hundreds of people from around the world, many lives changed by the love of Christ – would you like to get involved? We’re at the half way point with fundraising, $1110 of $2220 has been raised so far. Please share with your friends and let’s see if we can meet this need by Sunday!

I first met Jenny from Bristol, England in Villafranca three weeks ago. I have seen her off and on, since then. I hiked with her and a friend who joined her for a week, from home, one morning and had lunch with them two weeks ago. I have had the pleasure of hiking, spending the evenings and sharing meals with Jenny for the last week now.

Jenny came out in April and began El Camino in St Jean. One day while hiking, she fell and broke her ankle. She spent a few days in Nàjera, waiting to see if she would get better, not knowing at the time that her ankle was broken. After four days, she went back to Bristol, got an x-ray and the news that her ankle was broken. She recuperated and came back to the Camino three weeks ago. She is here to finish what she started!

Meet Amanda, Daniel and Kyle. They are all 22, friends from a small town in Wyoming. Amanda and Daniel have   graduated from college and Kyle will be a super Senior in the spring. They are on a hiatus, traveling around Europe for 3 months. This is the longest they have been away from home.

These three began in Switzerland and hiked two 40 kl days and decided that was not going to work. They took the train to France and began again there. They have now walked 900 kl and they plan to go to Santiago  and then to Finistere and Muxia before traveling a bit around Europe for two weeks. This has been a stretching experience for them in many ways. They’ve been friends for years but never have been together 24/7 for months. They walk at different paces, so they have had to adjust to each other. Now that they are together all the time, they see more of each other and have given each other some hard feedback about some areas that are rough around the edges.
