With only 6 days until I need to report for launch for the World Race in Atlanta, GA this passage resonates with me:

Acts 20: 21-24

21 I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.

22 “And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. 23 I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. 24 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me;my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

I declare the Word of the Lord daily, that we must turn from our wicked ways and have faith in Jesus.  Jesus was God, who became man, lived the only perfect, sinless life, was crucified for my sins not even committed yet, was buried and rose to life on the third day.  He did not stop there.

The ministry He began on earth was continued through Him and his disciples, He did ascend to heaven, not turning His back on His disciples but to make intersession for them with the Father.  Jesus is alive!  He is moving in the hearts of millions today.

I am tasked with sharing and spreading His love, His gospel.  I count this the greatest responsibility and pleasure.  Sharing His love is not always easy and I am often persecuted for doing so.  I know many hardships will be present as I am heading out into the larger world to share His love.  I am actually looking forward to them as I know I will be shaped and refined by the hardships.  I am embracing His love to share Him more and go into a deeper relationship with Him.

I know many people already think I am radical or a free spirit type of person, this is the Love of Jesus in me, that makes me free to follow Him and not man with our own of pursuits.  I know that moving into a deeper relationship with Jesus will continue to change me and make me act/seem different and as counter cultural as it sounds, I am cool with that.  I am not called to be above anyone but to serve and love people and that is why I am launching with the World Race in 6 days.

I do relish your prayers as I and H squad are getting prepared to go.  We are packing up living situations, saying good bye to jobs, friends, family, churches, activities, passions, possessions, comfortable lives.  We are saying goodbye for 11 months not to be selfish but to become selfless.  We do not mean to hurt anyone that is staying behind.  We may not be able to communicate as much as we’d like, we may not be present for important moments in loved one’s live’s but we will be carrying you with us as well.  The love that we have for you, the passions that we share, the experiences we’ve had, all to share with the world the Love of Jesus.

  1. Wonderful Tina! I like the Bible verses you chose.
Thank you for considering all of us as you continue to follow and serve our Sovereign Savior Lord Jesus.
