One reason I am going on the mission trip, is to learn to fully rely on God.  I have felt the call on my life to be a missionary since the 7th grade.  This made things interesting in College and Career classes at my school.  We had to do research and reports on the careers we thought we’d like to do and there was never information on missionaries in the curriculum.  Thankfully, my teachers would allow me to work outside the box when collecting information and at times, I needed to compromise and do research on jobs like teaching, administrator, office manager, etc.

Sorry, that was a rabbit trail, lol.  What is a bit different for me about this mission trip is being under the umbrella of a mission organization for the entire time, raising 100% of funds and sharing my needs as they arise.

As a single young woman in Western society, I need to be strong, courageous, independent, hard working, self motivated, resilient, self reliant, etc…  I knew that one of the toughest challenges I would face at the onset of this calling to go on the World Race would be in asking for support.  I also knew that it is Biblical to ask for support:

Mark 6:8-10 and He instructed them that they should take nothing for their journey, except a mere staff—no bread, no bag, no money in their belt— but to wear sandals; and He added, “Do not put on two tunics.” And He said to them, “Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave town.

Luke 22:35 And He said to them, “When I sent you out without money belt and bag and sandals, you did not lack anything, did you?” They said, “No, nothing.”

I know that when Jesus commissions us to do something, He will provide!

I am so humbled and encouraged to watch how Jesus has been stirring people to get involved with this trip!  Most often, I just need humble myself and share the need and then someone lets me know they want to help.  I am grateful to you for your prayer support, financial donations to send me on the WR, purchase of gear for me to use and verbal and written encouragement.

I am so joyful to be at 65% support.  $10,638 of $16,254 has been provided.  $5,616 is still needed.  I have been praying/believing and working towards being 100% supported by the time I launch in September.  I am still trusting Jesus to do this.  If you feel led to contribute, click here to SUPPORT ME.

I have a wishlist with gear that will be useful throughout the year.  Click here for the WISHLIST.

I will always be in need of your encouragement and support.  You can write to me by leaving comments on the blog below or send me e-mails at [email protected]
