Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning it’s shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12: 1-3
I am keeping my eyes fixed on Jesus, as I walk through this life, He has set out before me. During my time on the World Race thus far, Jesus has revealed some things to me:
In India, I had a sleepover with the Holy Spirit and two women from my squad. The Holy Spirit revealed that I will have dreams and visions restored to me. After my Grandmother and niece died in a house fire in 1989, while I dreampt what was happening, as it was happening, I have not remembered having any dreams since that night. Also, when I close my eyes and try to visualize something, I only see darkness. I believe that the Lord is true to His word and that He will give me dreams and visions. You can read more about that night in this blog: Slumber Party With The Holy Spirit
While I was in India, the Lord also revealed to me that I am a person of peace, a bridge builder.
On the 14 hour over night bus ride from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, Thailand, I was unable to sleep, I could only recline my seat about an inch until the person behind me would complain or kick the seat, it was a LONG night! I had plenty of time to talk with Abba, about the plans He has for me in the future. After leaving my corporate job at Nestle, in 2009, I hiked the Appalachian Trail (AT) as my first individual short term mission trip. While hiking the AT, I heard about the El Camino de Santiango. El Camino de Santiago, also known as the Way of St. James in Galicia in northwestern Spain, where tradition has it that the remains of the saint are buried. Many take up this route as a form of spiritual path or retreat, for their spiritual growth. Abba told me that the El Camino is in my future, I will hike it one day.
In Cambodia, my team was at an orphanage with 34 children. One girl singled me out on our third day there, I was hand washing my clothes in a 5 gallon bucket, when she came over to me and we mimed back and forth for a few minutes, as she spoke little English and then she said “Mommy.” In that moment, I heard confirmation from the Lord that I will be a mother some day. Whether that is baring my own children, as a mother to 34 children in an orphanage or through adoption, it is a matter of when not if! This precious girl only called me “Mommy” from that time on. She was so warm, cuddly and loving. She worshiped our Savior with such fervor and joy. I miss her dearly!
All such blessings! So excited to see how these all come to be!
In the notification email that you had a new blog post, I saw that AIM now has a Cuba missions trip – I’m excited to look into it.
Tina, I am so excited for you. Your revelations are beautiful. Very touching!
I first heard about the El Camino de Santiango in a movie called The Way. That would be a fantastic pilgrimage. You could start in France and pilgrimage to Spain.
