Dear Friends,

I left my corporate job at Edy’s Grand Ice Cream in March, 2009 to hike the Appalachian Trail as a Missionary.  I was blessed to hike and share the gospel for 4 months.  I have been on 10 mission trips since taking that step of faith and walking away from the comfort of that job and lifestyle; from 4 day trips to Damascus, VA to minister and serve hikers, to 6 months in India teaching at a school for slum children.  With each trip, I’ve found God continuing to show me how broken the world is and how much people need to experience Him.  I have an exciting opportunity to be part of a yearlong missions team going to ASIA in September, 2014. Our team will be led by Adventures in Missions and the trip is called the World Race.  Together we will take the Good News of the Gospel to the people of Asia.

Our team of 53 will be broken into groups of 7-8.  The teams will visit 11 countries, 1 per month.  The countries are India, Nepal, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, China, Mongolia and the Philippines.  We will partner with national churches and ministries to meet the needs of the communities: preach the gospel, plant churches, go door to door, work with orphans, construction projects, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human sex trafficking and bring the restorative HOPE of the Father’s LOVE to many tribes and nations.  All while discovering who God has called me be!  I am praying that God will show me where He wants me to be for the next few years working in ministry.  One of the unique things about this World Race mission trip is that it’s not only a mission trip but also an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific calling.

I would like to ask you to prayerfully consider partnering with me on this mission trip. I believe God is calling me to go, however this can only happen if others sense God’s calling to send me. As it says in Romans 10:13-15 “for, Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.  How, then can they call on the one they have not believed in?  And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?  And how shall they hear without someone preaching to them?

And how can anyone preach unless they are SENT?  As it is written:  “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”  (New International Version (NIV Bible))

Would you consider SENDING me?  First will you commit to pray for me?  Please let me know if you will be praying for me, the team and the mission trip, so I can send you updates.  I will be keeping a blog while I am on this trip.  The blog can be found @ www.christinasakers.theworldrace.org Please let me know specifically if you want to be on my prayer team by e-mailing me @ [email protected].  I will use the blog to update and try to send periodic e-mails to my prayer partners.

Second, would you give financially to help cover expenses for the trip? The total cost for the trip is $16,255. I have been able to raise $8,810 to date.  This money will cover all of my field expenses and insurance for the 11 months of the trip.

If you would like to be a part of my sending team, please make your check payable to “Adventures in Missions,” write “Christina Sakers” in the MEMO line of your check and mail it with the enclosed slip (mailing address on slip).  Donations can also be made online @ www.adventures.org Click DONATE , WORLD RACE PARTICIPANTS, put Christina Sakers for the Participant’s name.  Monthly support is another option.  Follow the online instructions and the end date would be March 1, 2015.

Thank you in advance for your prayerful consideration of this request. I look forward to seeing how the Lord will move as I take this step of faith.  Your prayer and financial support are a blessing to me, as well as to many who will have an opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel as a result of your sending me.

God Bless,
